Wendy Mazon holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts degree in music performance with a minor in music education and a University Teaching Certificate from the University of Arizona. Additional degrees include a Masters of Music degree in Music Performance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from California State University, Northridge.WendyMazon2

Wendy Mazon is an avid freelance and chamber performer. She is currently the Principal clarinetist of the Filipino-American Symphony Orchestra and Co-Principal clarinetist of the Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra, a member of the K.A.W. Quartet and Katipunan Marching Band, and a founding member of the chamber ensembles Le Petite Duo and Iris Chamber Ensemble.

In addition to chamber music, Dr. Mazon has presented her original research on lung function and musicians at the Desert Skies Symposium on Research in Music Education in Tucson, Arizona, the Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities in Honolulu, Hawaii, California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California and the International Clarinet Association’s ClarinetFest in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Mazon is the founder of the Mazon Music Studio, established in 1997, offering private lessons to students in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas. In addition to giving workshops and teaching privately, Dr. Mazon teaches at several instrumental music programs throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area and is part of the adjunct faculty at College of the Canyons and Ventura College. Her clarinet teachers include Dr. Julia Heinen, Hakan Rosengren, Jerry Kirkbride and Jim Kanter.
